The Washington Post is reporting the US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales assured the US Congress the FBI respected privacy rights despite receiving reports that violations had occurred.
Gonzales's comments came in April 2005 as he sought congressional renewal of broad powers under the Patriot Act. At the time, he told Congress, "There has not been one verified case of civil-liberties abuse"; however, internal FBI documents show in the three months before his testimony, Gonzales received at least six reports that impeach that testimony. It is incriminating evidence that Gonzales deliberately misled Congress in the lead-up to the vote on renewing, modifying, or scrapping the Patriot Act. The violations included unauthorized surveillance and illegal property-searches.
Just how slippery will Gonzales attempt to be about this? What will he say about the meaning of the term "verified"?
The Patriot Act is an abomination. It must go. It was planned in advance as the neocons worked all the angles to get another Pearl Harbor to occur.
Gonzales must go. All the neocons must go.
As the Real Liberal Christian Church, we aren't endorsing any candidate for secular office. Real Christians don't work within the system of the dark prince of this world and his worldly Empire, the biblical Beast. They go into it to speak truth, to cast light where there is darkness, to reach lost souls for righteousness' sake.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
We are saying though that neocons are bad shepherds and bad stewards. They should not be in charge of anything. They are rebellious against righteousness that is God. They bring only disorder, destruction, and all the rest of the evil.
