CHAPTER 55 TORTURE CHAMBERS, DUNGEONS, AND MODERNITY: SUPPLEMENT: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CONSERVATIVE-REPUBLICAN CHRISTIAN: JESUS IS A SMALL-C COMMUNIST

Friday, September 08, 2006:

Is modernity a state or quality leading into the light or into darkness? It depends upon whom one is following.

At present, the president of the United States of America is asking the US Congress to legalize torture chambers and dungeons operated at his command. At the same time, he is still taking the advice of scribes encouraging him to continue asserting his implied presidential powers in war and concerning foreign policy and defining national security, etc., to do whatever he deems desirous in his sole opinion.

Montesquieu and his theme of separation of powers into branches of government, put forth in The Spirit of Laws , which influenced the founders of America, can go to hell according to the lawyers counseling the president.

Such ideas as separation of powers are designed to curb the total corruption that is total power vested in one human being of the selfish variety.

The president wants to change the law before his party loses power and he is charged with war crimes, etc.

Jesus didn't need Montesquieu's scheme, because he, Jesus, was the unselfish variety of man. Jesus was last. That's why he was also first.

Since we are speaking of perverted law, the Bush administration has asked the Congress to pass legislation that would allow it, the administration, to try, convict, sentence, and execute prisoners of war without ever having shown those prisoners any evidence against them.

How long are the American people going to wait to get rid of these neocons? They are all insane. They should definitely not be the stewards or shepherds of any nation ever. The Son of man does not stand for it. Woe to those who are found beating their fellow servants. Woe to the unjust.
