Commercial sex work is a euphemism for prostitution.
People are demanding that tax dollars, coerced payment from other people, be spent on facilitating prostitution in the name of combating AIDS.
When the so-called religious right promotes abstinence as a method of combating AIDS, the false liberals complain that that doesn't work, that people still get the disease.
Well, there are other channels of transmission, such as needles and blood transfusions with tainted blood and rape and accidental pricks, etc.
One may argue that shutting down AIDS by any means, including free distribution of condoms to prostitutes is the lesser of evils. However, there is nothing wrong with being against prostitution as a sin, which it is, without doubt. People don't do anyone else any favor by diminishing that fact.
It is very true that if the vast majority of infected people would simply stop having sex, the spread of the disease would drop precipitously. If people who are not infected would stop having sex outside their marriage, that too would drop the rate precipitously.
Unchanneled lust is the problem. The false left doesn't want to focus on that. They want free love. However, free love has always led to problems. That's designed into the system of creation for a good reason. Don't cave into lust, overcome, have faith, and live the real life.
This license to depravity just leaves the door wide open to the sexual exploitation of the vulnerable children. As of Wednesday, December 20, 2006, there are an estimated fifteen thousand child prostitutes working the coast of Kenya, Africa, where men from all over the world travel to have sex with children. Kenya far from the only place where this sort of thing is rampant.
One just cannot leave any room in his or her heart for sex outside a faithful and monogamous, heterosexual marriage between freely (uncoerced) consenting adults. Anything else just leads to disaster in the world. It's just too self-centered, too self-absorbed.
