The major league professional football quarterback Michael Vick pleaded guilty to operating a ring for illegal dog-fighting and gambling. He apparently killed at least eight dogs. Some of the dogs he hanged to death. Others he drowned alive. Michael Vick said, "I want to apologize to all the young kids out there for my immature acts. What I did was very immature, and it means I need to grow up."

Hanging and drowning mis-bred (pit-fighting) dogs to death, let alone deliberately getting them to fight each, isn't immature. The vast majority of immature children would be horrified by it and would refuse to participate in such cruelty. What it is is sheer evil. Vick doesn't need to "grow up" to stop it. He needs to get straight with God.
