There's a discussion/debate at "Mugabe: It's Not Me, It's Colonialism!" (by Fred Stopsky. The Impudent Observer. 19 Comments as of Friday, February 1, 2008, 06:54 PM PST) concerning Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe, communism, land redistribution, economic sanctions, violence, cronyism, the legacy of British colonialism, and much more. You might want to take a look.

The truth is that both sides of the discussion are correct to some degree. There is no doubt that hyper-capitalists and racists will block trade when that trade is coming from within a so-called socialist nation-state, especially a predominately non-white nation led by a non-white. It is also true that Robert Mugabe has mistreated the misguided, repressive, often brutal and ruthless Whites without understanding the culture and history of their forbearers, just as those Whites failed to understand the Black Africans. Mugabe has also though severely abused his fellow Blacks, many of whom are by no means capitalist reactionaries.
