KOSOVO SERB PROTESTERS ATTACK UN POLICE (AP)

Serb students protest against Kosovo's independence in the ethnically divided town of Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008. The proclamation of Kosovo's independence by Albanians on Sunday was followed with a growing anger among Kosovo's Serb population.

AP - Violent protests rocked Serb-dominated northern Kosovo on Friday, as mobs chanting "Kosovo is ours!" hurled stones, bottles and firecrackers at U.N. police guarding a bridge that divides Serbs from ethnic Albanians.

RLCC: Much of what is going on here has to do with oil discovered in the area and with EU and NATO (US/Atlanticist) expansion in the geopolitical chess match against the former USSR and current Russia.
