BUSH PUSHES FREE-TRADE DEAL FOR WORLD'S TOP UNIONISTS KILLERS

George W. Bush is pressing Congress to vote for a free-trade deal with Columbia whom Bush calls a great ally. However, the following says a great deal about the quality of that so-called ally.

Colombia has the highest rate of killings of trade unionists in the world. According to Human Rights Watch, seventeen trade unionists have been killed in Colombia in the first three months of this year. "President Bush Urges Congress to Approve Colombian Trade Deal." Democracy Now. April 8, 2008.
