AFP - TOKYO (AFP) - Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on Thursday called on business chiefs from some of the world's richest nations to link arms with governments in the battle against climate change.
"Now is the time for not only politicians and industry but also individuals to recognise that humanity faces a turning point and to start taking action.
"The industrial sector must not forget that it is the main emitter of greenhouse gases," Fukuda told the start of a one-day meeting here of business federation chiefs from the Group of Eight industrialised nations.
RLCC Comment: Capitalism isn't the solution. It's the cause. Its spirit is the cause. Selfishness is the problem, not the solution. Until all the nations of the world agree on that and act accordingly, the solution will evade them.
