UNCONSTITUTIONAL CUSTOMS SEARCHES OF U.S. CITIZENS

The Department of Homeland Security is claiming the legal right to search the private papers and digital documents (and keep and share the contents) concerning U.S. citizens reentering the country even though those citizens are not suspected of any wrong-doing. There is no probable cause; therefore, such searches are illegal, unconstitutional, warrantless searches of property that U.S. citizens have a right to expect will remain private unless the citizen is reasonably suspected of having committed a crime and a judge concurs and issues a search warrant with all of the required particulars. The fact the Department of Homeland Security is taking this step is another in a long line of steps by the Bush administration neocons to turn the U.S. into a police state, a dictatorship.

The U.S. is in real danger of becoming an openly declared fascist state.
