Paul was certainly wrong and not to be followed. Paul:
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due ; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:1-8 KJVA)
To follow that is to cave into any spirit, whether good or evil, saying I am over you and you are to do exactly what I say. What did Jesus do and teach?
This post is a follow-up to the post and comments there: "PART 9: TO DEBATE TO GET AT AND TO SHOW TRUTH IS CHRISTIAN: SOME MORE OF WHY I'M NOT A PAULINE SO-CALLED CHRISTIAN: CAPITAL PUNISHMENT."
Who by another standard doesn't deserve to die? How many crimes are capital crimes under Moses, and when did the Mosaic law stop being the law? How many crimes were capital crimes under the Pharaohs before and during Moses, and when did those laws stop being the law? Are the ancient words of all those Pharaohs the Christian law? Is the Mosaic law the Christian law? Are the laws of the ancient Pharaohs and Moses the laws of God? They are not and never were. The Christian law is the real law of God and always has been. The Christian law transcends Moses and Paul.
Under Paul's law, per his letter to the Romans, had you been in Egypt at the time Moses was born, you would have been required to obey Pharaoh's decree that was law.
And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive. (Exodus 1:22 KJVA)
How could the Hebrew midwives under Pharaoh have love their fellow Hebrews by killing every Hebrew male newborn? Paul was seriously confused. He seriously misled the people. His confusion opened the flood gates of Hell into the churches leading them into the apostasy of capital punishment. He has not touched the real Church though.
Paul's words are still used today as scriptural justification for the abomination of capital punishment and war and gender discrimination and all manner of things for which Jesus did not and does not make a stand.
The law of man, the Mosaic law, told Jesus that the adulteress must die; however, he refused that law and rather held forth with the one and only true law that has always been.
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:3-12 KJVR)
Where is Paul in this? Paul is not following Jesus but is walking in darkness. He is not casting the light of life into the world but rather darkness. Paul is following the Mosaic law stoning her, for the members of the Sanhedrin, in Paul's eyes, were God ordained and to be obeyed per his letter to the Romans. Who then was Jesus? Jesus was over the Sanhedrin.
Jesus and only Jesus was and remains consistent with all the law and the prophets, because he was not and is not a hypocrite before God.
Paul would have had you confused, likely obeying Pharaoh, Moses, and Hitler, thereby killing the newborn Hebrew males, casting stones at the adulteress, and exterminating those Hitler considered undesirable and inferior in the concentration camps and elsewhere rather than forgiving others for having been misled and showing others the quality of mercy and real love that they would then carry forward all the days of their lives spreading peace and truth, being healed, and sinning no more.
Just look at the so-called Christians, who are really Paulines, who did the bidding of George W. Bush by waterboarding others and worse, much worse, all about the planet. Look at those who call themselves Christians who pray to Jesus before they then go out on military missions in which they do exactly what God and Jesus do not want them doing. Whom do those Paulines quote in justification? They quote Paul and only Paul, or they selectively take Jesus completely out of context.
Jesus did not inflict capital punishment upon anyone. He convicted the court of Satan and the beguiled jury instead. He didn't punish any of them either but made clear that Satan's own system will land him in the Hell of his own making.
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him. (Mark 12:13-17 KJVR)
That is not the reason given by Paul, far from it. Caesar was held up by the Romans as a demigod to be worshipped as God on Earth. Caesar was never doing the will of God as Jesus was doing the will of God. Caesar was doing the will of Satan against God and against the Christ-spirit in Jesus. Jesus did not teach that the reason we are to pay taxes to the worldly, fallen empire is as follows:
(Romans 13:1-7 KJVR)
After writing all of this, the powers that be, it is written, cut off Paul's head.
After reading this post, anyone who does not acknowledge that Paul was astray and led others astray is a liar in his or her own heart and is also astray and leading others also astray.
To have the New Heaven come to conflate with the New Earth, it is necessary to remove Paul out of the way in your heart, for he is blocking the entrance that is the strait gate to the narrow way.
Who was Paul really?
