Juarez is across the border from El Paso, Texas, U.S.A.

An estimated 1,600 people died there in drug-related violence in 2008. The city's police chief resigned under death threats to police. The government of Mexico is sending 7,000 troops and Federals (national police) to the area to combat the hyper-violent drug gangs. The U.S. Pentagon is exploiting the situation by offering Mexico military assistance.

One wonders how much CIA involvement there has been in setting up the situation as a pretext for greater integration of certain elites in both nations.

The bankers love all the money-laundering profits from the drugs and weapons industries of course. They love the excuse to fund the drug war and law-enforcement. They love the instability and fear it all engenders in the general public.
