The rabid capitalists want to rape the Peruvian rainforest via oil and gas extraction (probably with minimal or no environmental safeguards), logging (like clear cutting), and mining (possible strip mining) on the commons (communal land) of the people. They want to go in and do to Peru what they have done in oh so many other nations leaving behind death and destruction by pollution and ruined local economies that are based upon more natural enterprises far more harmonious with the ecosystem.

Alan Garcia was a terrible disaster as president but was elected again after a long lapse in office. How he won is a mystery other than that money backed him on account of his position of allowing such things as this foreign rape of the nation.

You know, it is just so wrong to be putting these people into this situation. Leave them alone. Let them live communally in harmony with nature without capitalist exploitation and pollution.

This is fascism. Garcia calls the indigenous people "not first class citizens." He calls them "pseudo-natives."

This is all on account of the U.S. and its stinking US-Peru Free Trade Agreement. There's no freedom in it for the people who used to be free on their communally owned (communist) land. There is only slavery and depravation and pollution and sickness awaiting them. It is any wonder why they fight against the Peruvian military? I don't condone fighting, but surely, all intelligent and fair-minded people of the world know that the rabid capitalists in the U.S. that pushed through the unfair trade agreement have the far greater sin in the matter.

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. (Isaiah 32:7 KJV)

Do you hear that Alan Garcia? Do you hear that, you in the U.S. who pushed through your wicked device: the US-Peru Free Trade Agreement? Your agreement is evil. Your agreement is an agreement to destroy the poor even when the indigenous Peruvians are speaking the truth about your pollution and destruction of everything they have, their whole natural way of life.
Woe unto you, Alan Garcia. Woe unto you U.S. rabid capitalist, U.S. Congress, and others who backed the unfair, unjust trade agreement.

Peru is just one of many countries now in open conflict with its indigenous people over natural resources. Barely reported in the international press, there have been major protests around mines, oil, logging and mineral exploitation in Africa, Latin America, Asia and North America. Hydro electric dams, biofuel plantations as well as coal, copper, gold and bauxite mines are all at the centre of major land rights disputes.
"This is happening in Russia, Canada, the Philippines, Cambodia, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Amazon, all over Latin America, Papua New Guinea and Africa. It is global. We are seeing a human rights emergency. A battle is taking place for natural resources everywhere. Much of the world's natural capital – oil, gas, timber, minerals – lies on or beneath lands occupied by indigenous people," says Tauli-Corpus. As greenhouse gas emissions increase, billions of tons of carbon dioxide from smokestacks and vehicle tailpipes are absorbed by the oceans. The result is carbonic acid, which dilutes the "rich soup" of calcium carbonate in the seawater that many species, especially on the low end of the food chain, thrive in.

(Source: "Scientists: Global warming has already changed oceans," by Les Blumenthal. McClatchy Newspapers. June 9, 2009.)

If the low end of the food chain goes so does the upper end. Humans are at the top.

The Corps of Engineers says that trees near levees weakens those levees, so it has a plan to cut down all the trees in the country that are within 15 feet of a levee.

Now look, roots stabilize. If they cut down the trees, the roots will die. The roots will turn into softer dirt. The root system will no longer be gripping and holding the soil in a ball. Yes, a hard wind can uproot a tree. That might happen at a levee. However, they have to consider that a levee might breach where they have killed a tree too on account of weakened soil conditions. Frankly, they should be planting trees, not cutting them down. Trees reduce wind. Trees cool the air. Trees take up water. Trees provide shade. Trees take up carbon. Trees are beautiful.

They can take down sick or weak trees and plant new trees. That would make sense. They could inspect trees and soil on a case-by-case basis. That would make sense. Cutting all the trees would be plain stupid, but what's new?

NYC to Gas 2,000 Geese In Bid to Protect Aircraft — Hunt At Dozens of Locations Near JFK, LaGuardia Planned to Avoid Bird Strikes 11 Jun 2009 New York City plans to trap and kill up to 2,000 Canada Geese this summer in an [insane] attempt to avoid the type of collision that caused an airliner to ditch in the Hudson River last winter. The hunt will take place on dozens of city properties located within five miles of Kennedy and LaGuardia airports.

What's the matter with these people? You don't gas geese to prevent aircraft crashes that happen once in a blue moon. You think of a better way of avoiding the geese or warning the geese off or something. This sounds like the idea of someone who hasn't thought it through or asked any questions of geese experts and airline-engineering experts. Bring them together to come up with a plan. I don't mean geese experts who don't give a damn about the geese either. I'm mean nature lovers and environmentalists. Until humanity begins to care on this level enough to do the barebones, things are just going to continue deteriorating at an escalating rate.

12 Jun 2009 The World Health Organisation yesterday declared a global flu pandemic – the first in more than 40 years – as swine flu spread to 74 countries causing more than 27,000 confirmed cases and 141 deaths. After intense discussions between WHO officials and the health ministries of the worst-affected countries, the organisation decided to raise its pandemic alert status from phase five to phase six – the highest level – which confirmed that a pandemic is under way.

I have deliberately avoided posting on the Swine Flu before this. The news from the beginning, from when only a couple of cases were reported until now has told a story. It has told a story of an otherwise inept government being able to predict that it would come to this.

I do not believe them. They have been building up to this for several years. These are the same people who released U.S. military weapons manufactured Anthrax on Washington D.C. and elsewhere, was sure to have the Bush administration on anti-Anthrax antibiotics (CIPRO) before the release, and then the FBI attempted to frame a man, Bruce E. Ivins, they may have driven to suicide or murdered and made it look like a suicide.

The problem is the pharmaceutical industry and the planned laws for forced inoculations (vaccinations).

This is not to say that influenza is not a naturally occurring disease. It cannot though be denied that the various governments around the world have laboratories where viruses are deliberately manipulated not to learn more about them to prevent disease but to learn more about them to use them as weapons and to learn how to use them for terrorizing effect.

There are many ruthless and extremely selfish, evil people in "high" places who pretend to care about the general population that is mostly in the lower economic strata. They don't consider everyone as being equally worthy of decent treatment. They rather consider many to be no more worthy of consideration than they give the steaks on their plates.

(See: "Killer flu recreated in the lab." BBC. October 7, 2004. [NOTE THE YEAR!] "Some experts believe a flu pandemic is overdue.... Scientists have shown that tiny changes to modern flu viruses could render them as deadly as the 1918 strain which killed millions.")
