The army has sent instructions to editors telling them to "refrain from publishing any items — stories, news, announcements, complaints, advertisements, pictures — pertaining to the Armed Forces or to commanders of the armed forces without first referring to the Morale Affairs Department and the Department of Military Intelligence and Information Gathering."
Everything hinges upon what will happen to that law/rule after the upcoming elections in Egypt. One of the first orders of business should be its elimination. The press and people must be free to criticize the military without such draconian restrictions.
Of course, I would love to see Egypt do completely away with its military and reap the bounty from doing so. Other nations have very little military.
The sooner militaries are nothing but history the better.
The whole world needs a peace dividend.
