Why does Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, reject the BDS Movement?

"The Episcopal Church does not endorse divestment or boycott," Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori recently told a Los Angeles group.  "It's not going to be helpful to endorse divestment or boycotts of Israel. It will only end in punishing Palestinians economically."

You will note that the link is to a main neocon site: FrontPage Magazine. They love it that this woman has taken this position.

Look, it's amazing that she mentions boycotts and divestment as punishing the Palestinians.

Katharine Jefferts Schori

Katharine, wake up! The Palestinians started the BDS Movement. They want it. Besides, aren't sanctions the more difficult aspect for Christians? Yes, they are.

I don't buy Israeli products. I wouldn't invest in an Israeli company. I speak out against Zionism. Would Jefferts Schori have said the same thing about Apartheid South Africa, that it would only punish the Black South Africans? What is she thinking? Is she thinking?

Perhaps FrontPage Magazine cherry picked Katharine's statements; but concerning the part they picked, she's wrong. Her reasoning is wrong. She could have given a better argument by saying that Christians don't punish, period. Now that would have favorably impressed me.
