Why break up the EU rather than radically reform it via debt-free money? "SR 47 Forbes Article-Bill Still.mov - YouTube"

Bill, why do all "nation-states" need separate currencies when the US is made up of 50 states based upon the original 13 colonies that could have become separate nations rather than merging and forming one country? Why can't the Europeans change the euro into the EU equivalent of United States Notes? Why can't we all push for decision-making at the grassroots that goes up and then is spread across the whole of the US and EU as best practices disseminating/facilitating? Why break up vs. reform?
