If WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange ever ends up in a US courtroom, prosecutors could face an uphill struggle trying to convict him, given America's legal safeguards for publishers, analysts say.
See my comment over there as follows:
Even without First Amendment rights, Julian Assange is not a US citizen. He wasn't in the US. Most importantly though, the whole thing comes down to the video, for one, of the US military shooting to death (actually murdering) many clearly unarmed civilian Iraqis in an operation (the whole war) having been based upon a pack of utter lies about Saddam Hussein and 9/11, Yellow Cake, mobile bio-weapons labs, and on and on and on.
Even in the face of all of that, Barack Obama, the so-called "liberal," supposedly anti-fascist, US President still wants Assange to face charges in the US while Obama has looked the other way on all of the absolutely illegal activities of the Bush-43 administration in the lead-up to the attack an invasion and occupation of Iraq, among just a few of its major war crimes!
The saddest thing though is that literally tens of millions of also "liberal" Democrats are vigorously supporting Barack Obama with his "kill list" and more.
I miss the days when the idea of the US government killing innocent babies in Pakistan via Hellfire Missiles fired from Predator Drones commanded by the direct order of the US President would have resulted in calls by mainstream Democrats for that President's removal from office. President Johnson couldn't stand the heat and didn't run again. Obama gets a pass with hugs and kisses.
It's a different generation and not better and not the best, just like America is not the greatest country in the world anymore, if it truly ever was.
