I love that line.
It's a pretty good article overall. It's very much in line with my own writing and thoughts concerning Mikhail Gorbachev, who has received a bum rap from most Russians, as far as I can tell.
By the way, the article focuses on Reagan too much. It was George H. W. Bush who sat on his hands while Russia crashed and stayed there. He lacked what he called "the vision thing." He lacked it in spades, in addition to being a gigantic liar with his "incubator babies" pretext to attack and invade Iraq.
At least he wasn't quite as thick as his son, George W. Bush, who understood stability and balance of power about as well as he understood Christianity, which is to say not at all.
