So the presidents of universities, congregations, and think tanks, other nonprofits are now kissing wealthy posteriors as never before.
It pays to do that. Mammon rewards its own. Which of those presidents isn't pretty rich in his or her own right?
It isn't that the love of money is the root of all evil in the sense most people take it. It's the spirit behind what devised money in the first place. The "love" that is that spirit is truly the root of all evil. It is also not real love. Real love is what Jesus did. He didn't sellout. He was sold out and knew it was going to happen. The question isn't, "What would Jesus do?" The question is, what are you doing? Are you selling out? Have you already done it? What are you supporting, what spirit? Do you say things such as, "Why does God need donations?"
God doesn't. You need to give. That's the point.
What would we do with it? Translate it into what won't need it: The Christian Commons.
Of course God can do that without you, but God wants you to crossover. God wants you to deserve it.
