The debate over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is stuck in an ancient rut on purpose

US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a person who wants to do the right thing. She's constantly attacked by libertarian-capitalists for it. Libertarian-capitalists are anti-democracy.

Alexandria has been hearkening back to the New Deal of President Franklin D. Roosevelt but with a twist. That twist is saving the planet from, among other things, anthropogenic global warming caused by carbon-fuel burning.

She's called for a 70% income-tax bracket for the uber-rich. At the pinnacle of USA power, it was 91%. The greedy panicked and threw their money at tricking the people into falling for trickle-down economics and austerity.

Okay, so the libertarian-capitalists (an oxymoron if ever there was one) and the greedy uber-rich were, and remain, wrong. That, however, doesn't mean that a 70% income-tax bracket is the right way forward. It isn't aren't.

The right way forward is economic democracy. You don't ever get there via unions or high tax-brackets. Unions and high tax-brackets simply guarantee wage slavery: a little nicer wage slavery but still slavery. They also still leave the window open for a reversal back to Reaganomics (Austrian School of Economics).

So, Alexandria is aiming way too low. I like her, but still.

She needs an education about economic-democracy and how the people can decide how much money should be in circulation and who should control it and why, etc.

Look, money can be one of two things. It can be what it has been (a tool of repression) or something it has never been (a measurement of the will of the People).
