I'm 65, and I literally grew up on Stephen Cohen. He was the go-to guy concerning the USSR for the MacNeil/Lehrer Report, which I never missed. Whenever he was on any show or network, he was always taken very seriously and was never disrespected. In videos parts 1, 2, and 3, I really like the way he's driven home the fact that it is totally necessary for Trump to be free to make deals with Putin and that the rest of the power elite are against that. He's made clear that even though the Red Scare was used to scare the hell out of the average American, there were always people in power ready and willing to talk with the Russians. Now, that simply doesn't appear to be the case. Therefore, Stephen Cohen is absolutely right that nuclear war is even more likely than during the Cuban Missile Crisis, which I totally remember had us all very worried and glued to the news. This is why Trump has to toughen up and put down all things Russiagate. He cannot depend upon any advisor he currently has.
“The claim that Russia attacked America during the 2016 presidential election is both exceedingly dangerous and a complete falsehood,” says Stephen Cohen on Reality Asserts Itself with Paul Jay
Trump’s stated aim is to reduce tensions with Russia, but is it motivated by peaceful objectives or is it preparations for aggression towards Iran and China - Stephen Cohen joins host Paul Jay for a spirited discussion on Reality Asserts Itself
After the fall of the Soviet Union, a dysfunctional and pro-American Russian President Yeltsin presided over the chaos of the 1990’s; when Putin came to power, the West was very disappointed at the independent and nationalist character of the Putin led state and the demonization began - Stephen Cohen joins Paul Jay on Reality Asserts Itself
